Frequently Asked Questions

Good questions deserve clear answers.

A few of the things second-home owners are likely to want to know before trusting someone with access to their property.

What is a home watch service?+

A home watch service performs scheduled visual checks of a vacant or seasonal property and reports obvious concerns or irregularities to the homeowner.

How often will you check my home?+

That depends on your selected plan and needs. Monthly service is a natural starting point, with more frequent options available.

Will I receive a report?+

Yes. Clear communication is central to the service, including a concise visit update and photos when appropriate.

What if you find a problem?+

We contact you promptly, document what we see and follow your direction. If needed, we can help coordinate access for an owner-approved vendor.

Do you make repairs?+

No. Hart Home Watch is not a licensed contractor. We identify visible concerns and can coordinate access to qualified service providers at your direction.

Can you check after a storm?+

Yes. Post-storm visual checks can be arranged once conditions are safe and local access is permitted.

Do I need a long-term contract?+

The goal is flexible, straightforward service without making second-home ownership more complicated.

Where do you serve?+

Our service area runs from Nags Head south through Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo, Avon, Buxton, Frisco and Hatteras Village.
